Facebook Guide

Facebook accounts split into two completely different markets, and mixing them up is the most expensive beginner mistake in this category. Personal profiles are for organic reach, groups, and Marketplace. Ad-ready accounts — aged profiles, sometimes with Business Manager access and ad accounts with spending history — are a professional tool for media buyers, and they are priced like one. A $2 profile and a $80 ad-ready account are not versions of the same product.

The two markets

  • Personal / social use. Aged profiles with friends, photos and posting history. Used for groups, Marketplace, outreach. Cheap, but must be genuinely aged — a 2024 "aged" profile with 3 friends is a farmed account wearing a costume.
  • Advertising. Profiles old enough and trusted enough to run ads, sometimes bundled with a Business Manager and an ad account that already has spend history. Spend history matters: an ad account that has successfully spent $500 gets fewer reviews than a virgin one. This is the only segment where five-year-old accounts justify real money.

What to check before you buy

  • Age and activity. Open the profile: real photos, real friends, real timeline posts across years. Farmed accounts have a thin timeline and friend lists full of other farmed accounts.
  • Account Quality. Facebook shows this at facebook.com/account_quality — check for past violations or restrictions before you pay, or ask the seller for a screenshot.
  • ID verification state. Some accounts have been through ID verification already, which is actually a plus for ad use. What you don't want is an account mid-verification that you'll have to complete with your own ID.
  • 2FA and trusted contacts. Enable 2FA on takeover. Check that no old trusted contacts or recovery emails remain.
  • For ad accounts: the ad account ID and its status. Ask whether it's in good standing, what the daily spending limit is, and whether it's ever been restricted. "Never restricted" with zero spend history is honest; "never restricted" on an account that's spent $10k is suspicious — verify it yourself in Ads Manager.

Delivery formats

Profiles usually deliver as login:password, sometimes with the email included, ideally with cookies so the login doesn't trigger a security checkpoint. Business Manager transfers are different: the proper way is an admin-role invite to your own BM, not a credential handover. If a seller only offers credentials for a BM asset, ask how ownership transfers — assets shared to you can be revoked.

Warranty expectations

Standard: login failures and locked-on-arrival accounts, 24–72 hours. Ad-account restrictions that happen after you start running your own campaigns are not covered — no seller can underwrite your ad creative. What reputable ad-account sellers do offer is a replacement if the account gets restricted before your first campaign, inside the warranty window.

Common scams and risks

  • Checkpoint on login. Logging in from a new country immediately can trigger a photo-ID or friend-identification checkpoint. Use cookies if provided, and don't change everything in the first hour.
  • BM asset revocation. If the "transfer" was just a share to your BM, the original owner can remove it. Get admin ownership, not a share.
  • Stolen real profiles. Accounts with real people's photos and years of genuine history at farmed-account prices are usually compromised. Besides being unethical, they get reclaimed constantly. Aged and farmed are fine; stolen is a time bomb.

The listings worth your money state age, friend count range, Account Quality status, and — for ad use — spend history and spending limit. Ask for all five before you pay. And remember the golden rule of this category: warm everything up. A five-year-old profile that suddenly starts running ads from a new country on day one looks compromised to every automated system involved — including the seller's warranty terms.
