Game Account Guide

Game accounts are the original account market — people were trading World of Warcraft characters before "digital marketplace" was a phrase. Today the trade covers Steam libraries, Supercell IDs, Epic accounts, console profiles, and boosted ranked accounts. The economics are simple (price tracks rare items, skins, and rank), but the security mechanics are platform-specific and unforgiving. This guide covers what actually protects your purchase on each major platform.

Platform cheat sheets

  • Steam. The big one. What matters: whether the account is Full Access (email changeable — the only kind worth buying for keeps) vs. limited; VAC ban status (check the profile — VAC bans are permanent and game-specific); region locks on games; and whether Family View PIN is set (get it removed or get the PIN).
  • Supercell ID (Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars, etc.). Tied to an email via Supercell ID. The transfer is an email change inside the game's settings — straightforward, but the original owner can recover through support with old purchase receipts, so change everything and add your own recovery.
  • Epic Games. Email change is the transfer. Check for linked console accounts (PlayStation/Xbox) — decide if they're included or a backdoor, and unlink what you don't need.
  • Ranked / boosted accounts. You're buying someone else's ladder position. Know that most competitive games ban account sharing and boosting — the account can be suspended for your play patterns changing suddenly, which no warranty covers.

What to check before you buy

  • Email changeability. The golden rule of game accounts. If you can't put your own email on it, you don't own it — you're renting until the seller changes the password.
  • Original email access. Some sellers include the original email inbox ("full access"). That's the safest tier: with the original email you can always recover the account yourself.
  • Purchase receipts. Ask whether the seller has original purchase receipts. Paradoxically, you want them to transfer these to you (or delete them) — receipts are the #1 tool for recovering an account through support, by whoever holds them.
  • Ban and restriction status. Check VAC, game bans, chat restrictions, and trade holds yourself on login. A "clean" account with a hidden game ban is worth a fraction of the price.
  • Region. Steam libraries can be region-locked; some games won't launch outside their purchase region without a VPN, and changing store region requires a local payment method.
  • 2FA / authenticator. Steam Guard, Epic 2FA — transfer the authenticator to your device or disable and re-enable it yourself.

The day-one routine

Change the email, change the password, move the authenticator to your phone, remove old payment methods and linked accounts you don't recognize, and screenshot the account's ban-status pages. Then play normally for a bit — a transferred account that immediately starts 12-hour grinding sessions in a different country looks exactly like a hijacked account to automated systems.

Warranty expectations

24–72 hours for wrong credentials and banned-on-arrival accounts is standard; high-value accounts (large Steam libraries, rare items) often carry 7–30 days against seller reclamation. What no warranty covers: bans you earn yourself, including boosting-related suspensions and cheating bans after takeover.

Common scams

  • The receipt reclaim. Seller recovers the account through support using original purchase receipts weeks later. Defense: full-access purchase (original email included) plus changing every recovery detail.
  • Inventory stripping. The valuable skins/items are traded away between the listing screenshots and delivery. Check the inventory on arrival, inside the warranty window.
  • "Unbannable" ranked accounts. No such thing. Boosted accounts carry permanent suspension risk from the game's own systems.

One more habit worth building: screenshot everything on arrival — inventory, ban-status pages, account settings. If you ever need the warranty or a ticket, "here's what it looked like at delivery" settles disputes in minutes instead of days.
